Sustainability Features

Explore our efforts across campus, reaching several branches of sustainability from green energy to food conservation.

Gardens

The Seminole Garden allows students and clubs to rent plots to grow their own food, or students can volunteer and learn more about gardening without the commitment of renting a plot. You can find more information here.

Green Buildings

Take a look at the map below to see what buildings have been certified as Green Buildings, and at what level! These buildings can include features such as low water fixtures to reduce water waste, the inclusion of native vegetation in landscaping, LED lighting to increase energy conservation, and much more. The different symbols and colors you’ll see on the map relate to different LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) ratings such as Gold, Silver, and Certified buildings. You can find more information on what makes each of these buildings special here.

Hydration Stations

An easy way to reduce your waste around campus is to use a reusable water bottle. To help with this, there are hydration stations situated all across campus, specially designed to make refilling a water bottle as easy as possible. For a comprehensive map of hydration station locations, look at the map.

Solar Features

The way to the future is green energy, and FSU is working to do its part. You can take a look at the interactive map to see all locations with solar features around campus. For further information on FSU’s efforts to integrate solar energy, you can click here.

Sustainable Transportation

FSU prides itself on being a campus that offers sustainable transportation options. You can take a look at the interactive map where you can find an interactive map for all bike racks, bike repair stations, and EV (electric vehicle) charging stations on campus.
